Born and raised in Mérida – Venezuela (The city of gentlemen or the students’ city – as it is locally known). Carlos grew up in this small city with his older brother. Even though he had family in the countryside, he preferred to travel and learn languages as much as he could.

He studied Hispano-American and Venezuelan Literature in the Universidad de Los Andes and later focused on teaching and has undertaken a number of professional development studies in different places like the University of Maryland – Baltimore and the University of Arizona.

He started teaching when he was 19 years old. At the age of 22, he discovered his passion for teaching languages. In 2017, he moved to Colombia where he had the opportunity to grow even more as a professional. He was the Head of the French and English Department in one of the best private schools in this country which helped cement his love for guiding students and teachers through educational processes related to language learning.

In 2017, he became a Live Lingua Spanish instructor which developed into a full-time role in early 2022. Now, he is a Student Advisor and is fully committed to helping students know their path and guiding them so they can achieve their language learning goals. He is a firm believer in learning and having fun at the same time.
